Use Rating, Course, Cuisine, and Tags For Better Recipe Organization

Rating

Categorize recipes as a favorite with 5 stars, or a not-so-favorite with no stars. Once you have recipes rated using the stars, use the Rating Filter pulldown menu on the left to search for all recipes of a particular rating.

Course / Cuisine / Main Ingredient

The Course, Cuisine, and Main Ingredient fields can be used to organize recipes into categories based on the characteristics of the recipe. Edit any of these categories by clicking on the pencil icon that appears to the right of Main Ingredient label.

Any of the categories in these lists can be customized by selecting the [Manage] option, which will be the first option in the list. Managing an item allows you to remove categories by clicking the trashcan icon, add categories using the field on the top, and change category names. The yellow circle with the number on the right of the category name indicates how many recipes are contained in that category.

If there is a characteristic of this recipe that doesn't quite fit into the Course, Cuisine, or Main Ingredient categories, use a Tag to identify this unique characteristic. Tags can be anything you would like: Holiday, Allergen Friendly, Deep Fried — it's entirely up to you. Add as many tags as you would like any recipe.

Searching for recipes based on rating, course, cuisine, or tags

Ratings, Course, Cuisine, and Tags allow for an organized search for groups of related recipes. There are a few ways to search for these recipes once they are categorized.

The easiest way to search is to click on the Tag link that appears on the recipe page itself. This will bring up a list of all recipes with that same Tag.

You can also use the Recipe Filters on the left of the recipe listing to see recipes that use those labels.
